Product Review – The PiMag Ultra Shower

photogrid_1457218812901.jpg Our first Nikken additon in creating our wellness home is the PiMag Ultra Shower, with little S and my husband having bad eczema it just makes sense for us to invest in a shower that filters out 100% chlorine and other irritants. Usually when we would bathe or shower the smell of the chlorine would be so strong that it would give me a headache. Other chemicals are also used when our water is being treated and although we consume a small amount of what is deamed safe it seems to be enough to make a difference in our family. Skin is our largest organ and when we shower or bathe the hot water opens up our pores and water is absorbed through our skin and into our blood stream, no matter the amount, regular tap water still takes chemicals into our body, plus we are also inhaling it through the steams that’s created. You can find information on studies of this HERE

Shower head

1.8m pipe

Putting the shower together was really simple, after you have fitted it together, just detach your old shower hose from the unit, replace with the ultra shower and run the water through for 2 minutes and your ready to go.

Instantly you can tell there is a difference in the water, the smell , the feel and the taste… I personally didn’t taste it but was told it tastes good, little s also seems obsessed with trying to drink it, she was the first to properly test it out and loved it! We filled a little in the bottom of the bath first and put in her Epsom salts, essential oils and coconut oil then run it over her while she played with it. Usually when I take little s out of the bath the worst spots of her eczema are quite red and she has red blotches on her skin, usually her back, but not when I took her out this time or everytime since she started using it, I also noticed her hair was softer. Little t isn’t fond of any kind of shower but he doesn’t get to try this one till the cast comes off his leg, but I did and it was amazing!! I don’t get headaches anymore when I’m bathing little s.  I actually had a headache already due to lack of sleep when I used the shower the first time and when I was under the shower it actually felt like the water was going through my hair onto my head, massaging it and it felt sooo good! And eased my headache! It really was like showering in spring water. When I got out my skin was soft and usually I have red blotches over my skin, I particularly notice it usually on my face but there wasn’t any, I thought the red blotches were just due to the water being hot, I guess not. My hair, it’s medium length and very notty, even though I use conditioner and leave it in for a few minutes, it can still be a nightmare, but It was easier to brush through and felt great, now i just need to find a good natural shampoo that doesn’t leave my hair all greasy! I’ve tried a lot, even made my own but my hair just seems to cling onto it and its awful, i use a ACV since too which makes it a bit better but i always end up having to go back to store bought stuff that makes my scalp all dry!

We love that our family can shower in water naturally cleansed of irritants and with no chlorine!! It’s another step for us to a healthier lifestyle and removing as much chemicals as we can from our home.

    1. You should definatly, its made such a difference to my little one and my hubby. My hubbys eczema can get really bad, hes previously had light treatment for it and loads of steriod creams but it all just seems calmer now. Get in touch if you need any more infomation on it. Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy the rest of your evening. :).

    1. We looked at water softners and they dont take out 100% of the Chlorine and the other chemicals that irritate eczema, so for our family this was better and cheaper, which is always a plus ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Sounds like a great shower head, filtering out all the bad things in the water. It’s so important to find things that benefit our skin.

  2. Ohmygoodness! I know JUST what you mean about the natural shampoos!! I’ve fund a great one with no sulphates โ€” it’s called Kind Natured โ€” would highly recommend. This shower looks fab โ€” especially for eczema sufferers ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. i might have to give that one a try too, i just love my natural products and I’m more open to spending my money on natural shampoo now i know what the problem was, who would have thought it was the water!! it must be the chemicals and the shampoo just not getting along ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Oh wow! I didn’t even know this was a thing – I really might look into this… my husband has quite sensitive skin and with a baby on the way, you can’t be too careful can you? Will recommend to my friend as well as her baby really suffers with eczema. Thanks for spreading the word!

    1. I didn’t either until last month, except in my dreams haha but defiantly, especially with little ones, i wish i had this from when mine were first born, and its so easy to fill the bath for the little ones with it because they don’t have much water in there. My oldest is expecting her first baby and they are getting one, so she will only ever bathe in chlorine free water. I’m so excited, i love it ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Great for families like us that have eczema, to have no nasties in the water is a great idea. x

    1. Ours is hard too its just awful! So glad we have this now, its so soft and I actually tasted it, everyone was saying it was great so i just had to and its not like warm water usually tastes.. This was nice haha! i love it! All links are in the post. Have a great day ๐Ÿ™‚
